WORLD FESTIVAL ON THE BEACH:
THE 19TH EDITION FROM STARTING POINT.
FROM TOMORROW THE MOUNT
PELLEGRINO’S FIRST TRIATHLON RACES WILL OPEN THE PEDESTRIANIZED AREA IN
THE SQUARE AT VALDESI, MONDELLO.
THE FIRST ATHLETES ARRIVE IN MONDELLO TO BEGIN TRAINING FOR THE RACEBOARD
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

from the starting point, the 19th edition of the World Festival on the Beach, with the
opening of the pedestrianized area in the square at Valdesi, Mondello.
Organized by the Albaria
WIndsurfing Club with the collaboration of more than ten years from the
Palermo Regional Council, the event has been made stronger since last
year thanks to the intervention of the
Sicilian Regional Tourism
Department.
The day will open tomorrow,at 12.30 there will be the meeting of the competitors on Mondello beach
for the Mount Pellegrino’s
1st Triathlon, which will not have the need to close roads
in Mondello, even if the competition will take place along the coast.
At 14.30 will be the time for
the teenagers race, a time to see the younger athletes play for Regional
Championships Title. At 15.00
and 15.20 will be the turn for
the realy young to line up at the starting line to race for the Tri
Kids Cup. But the what everyone will be waiting for is the Inter
– regional Championships that sees central and southern italy teams
begin their race at 15.45.
The race will take place in the area around the square at Valdesi,
Mondello, to allow more space for spectators to see the entertainment,
with it being a weekend day there will be a large amount of people on the
beach at Mondello. The day
dedicated to the Triathlon will finish at 20.00 with a disco party to be
organized on the beach.
While waiting for the
begining of the raceboard world championships to take place on monday the
17th of May, Riccardo
Giordano and Paco Wirz,
Palermo’s windsurfing champions will begin tomorrow and on Sunday
training in the crystal waters at Mondello, they will be joined by Wojcik
and Tomek from Poland, Guyader
from France and from Germany, Baronjan.
To make the beach more
welcoming l’AMIA will be seeing to streghthen its normal cleaning
service.
