CITEZENS AND ASSOCIATIONS, PROTAGONISTS IN MONDELLO, FROM THE 15^TH TO THE 23^RD OF MAY, CULTURE, SPORT AND SOLIDARITY AT THE 19^TH EDITION. VILLA GREGORIETTI, ALBARIA’S HEADQUARTERS ADOPTED BY STUDENTS FROM THE G. SALVEMINI INSTITUTE, THE RESEARCH AND TRANSPLANT ASSOCIATION PRESENT AT THE WW FESTIVAL.  TOMORROW ALSO A STAND TO PROMOTE TOURISM IN SICILY, BY PALERMO’S AND MONREALE’S TOURISM AGENCY.

Palermo - 16^th of May – There’s a space  for culture and solidarity in Mondello, the Miami Beach 7 kilometers away from Palermo, which transforms during the period of the World Festival on the Beach into a colorful californian village where it’s possible to meet among the many people that crowd the square that becomes pedestrianised during the Festival international windsurf champions, tomorrow these champions will race against each other for the world title.

It’s not only sport at the World Festival on the Beach organized by the Albaria Windsurfing Club with the collaboration from Palermo’s local Council and the Sicilian Regional Tourism Department.  There’s a space for the culture and the protection of the artistic heritage of the liberty style villas in Mondello introduced by “The schools adopt a Monument”. The Students from the “G Salvemini” institute have for the first time adopted Villa Gregorietti, the splendid villa from the 1900s is the prestigious headquarters of the Albaria.

There is solidariety at The World Festival on the Beach with the Research and Transplants Association, that during the Festival will sell a famous Italian licorice flavour sweet, to raise money for the research fund.  Also from tomorrow there will be a stand for Palermo’s and Monreale’s Tourism Agency, and from where the new Sicilian Hotel Guide will be distributed and where the different events organized by the Agency, such as the International Tennis tournaments, the International week of Sacred Music and “La Coppa degli Assi”
