MARCIA MARIA FROM BRAZIL WILL OPEN THE NEW JAZZ FESTIVAL ON THE BEACH OF THE 19^TH EDITION OF THE WORLD FESTIVAL ON THE BEACH

PALERMO – 18^TH OF MAY – Tomorrow evening wednesday the 19^th, the New Jazz Festival On the Beach, the show that for the third year now has brought a magical atmosphere to the World Festival on The Beach, organized for the 19^th year by the Albaria Club.

In the past years great artists have been seen opening the shows and this time it’s Marcia Maria’s turn from Brazil with her quintet to open the festival.

 The artist is very close to the rythyms from her country, proud to be an ambassador of the brazilian culture in Europe, she will dedicate her concert to one of the most important authors from her country, Antoni Carlos Jobim a great poet and father of Bossanova.

Her personnal program contains a mix of samba, bossanova and funk that is full of constant energy that makes her a unique artist of her kind.  She was born in Rio de Janeiro, she began her music career in Brazil going on to Paris in 1982 where her popularity grew year after year.
After recording a lot of CD’s in Brazil, her first European disk Colo de Rio comes out and  that had  a lot of success at the Viva Brazil Festival in Brussels.  Marcia is now celebrating 30 years of her career with the same energy that she started off with.   On the stage set up in Valdesi Square, inside the village, marcia (singer, percussion) will have beside her Robert Persi ( piano and keyboard), Sidney rodriguez (guitar), Natalino Neto (base), Yoann Serra (drums).

The evening will go on at the Fix disco in Galatea road, for the second official party of the World Festival on the Beach, the parties that are part of the All Night Long Club.  The Dj’s of the night are Nunzio Borino and Fausto Selvaggio.  You must have tickets to enter, available from the Village in Valdesi.
