THE WORLD FESTIVAL ON THE BEACH IS GIVEN THE OKAY FROM THE PREFECTORIAL      COMMISSION
STILL AWAITING THE STAGE FOR THE SUMMER FESTIVAL, FLOW OF INTERNATIONAL TOURISM IN THE SPORTING VILLAGE.

PALERMO –18^TH OF MAY-  The Prefectorial Commission has given the okay to the World Festival on the Beach.   But even if the organising engine is going ahead, a small defection is worrying the organizers. Two days away from the event the Albaria awaits the setting up of the stage to be built on the beach which is supposed to hold the musical entertainment of the Summer Festival in Sicily. The Arrival of the structure and the promise of delivering, has been awaited on for days, and for this the organization of the festival didn’t opt for an alternative.  Two days away from the event not even the flowering arrangements have arrived which each year have made even nicer the World Festival on the Beach Village.

There has been a great flow of international tourism at the Sporting Village. Even more sport, music and fun in the fishing village with a cross between surfers that come from every part of the world and tomorrow will compete in the “Windsurf Legend Race”, an international meeting between the older celebrities of windsurf. 

Matt Schweitzer from California, son of the windsurf inventor Hoyle, is in Sicily for the first time together with his wife Shawneen.

With them is Mike Waltze, the surf giant who from last year was entered in the PWA Hall of Fame, Professional Windsurfers Associations.

Discoverer of wave surfing, Waltze has his own film production company “Mike Waltze Productions” which is specialized in extreme sports.

From Poland Halina Wojcik has arrived, Halina has an important past in the female windsurf history, today at the World Festival on the Beach as a mum and coach to her two sons Macje and Maksmillian, two World champion stars in Windsurfing.  Maksmillian yesterday got himself a great result in the race coming in at 4^th place.   Walking around the Village carried out by the Albaria, between Valdesi Square and Regina Elena Street, it is possible to meet the beautiful blonde Alison Shreeve, a worldwide windsurfing star.

If the wind keeps up there will be today and tomorrow the championships to conquist the world raceboarding title.

Once the spot lights are turned away from the sport they are switched on to the magical nights of the World Festival on the Beach with the first appointment of the New Jazz Festival on the Beach exhibition, at it’s third year, with artist Marcia Maria and her quintet.  The evening for the night people of the festival will follow on at Fix, in Galatea Road for the second appointment from the “All Night Long” organization.  The dj’s of the night will be Nunzio Borino and Fausto Selvaggio.  You must have tickets to enter, available from the village in Valdesi.  Mauriziotto is the artisitic director for the entertainment of the World Festival on the Beach.
