PRESS RELEASE NO:21 NO STOP FOR THE DUO FRAGOS – CHRYSOCHOY LEADING THE WORLD RACEBOARDING CHAMPIONSHIPS THAT BRINGS GREECE BACK INTO LEAD THE NATIONS CUP PALERMO – 19TH OF MAY- George Fragos wins for the second time and is ahead in the races after the third day of the World Raceboarding Championships races organized by the Albaria Windsurfing Club found in Mondello. The wind was no stronger than 6-7 knots today, not even the other greek Ioannis Chrysochoy was able to plot his compatriot leader. So far the results see the greek pair Fragos- Chrysochoy who is begining to get faster leaving behind Beudou from France in 3rd place and Baronjan from Germany in 4th place. Alessandro Alberti was 7th in the first race and third in the second, he continues to be the strongest of the Italians. He said “ At the moment i’m feeling really fit, in the past few months i’ve been dividing myself between work and races, now i’m only thinking about windsurfing and the results are already begining to show”. Federico Esposito got 7th place followed by Marco Casagrande, Paco Wirz goes back into lead the classification which could be valid for the assignment of the European Masters Title. With 13th and 10th place today, Wirz from the Lauria Club took advantage of the not so lucky day of Paul Leoni, slipping through to 2nd place infront of Asia from France in 3rd place. The head to head in the womens races continues between Bryony Shaw and Lise Vidal, both are very near in the classifications, seperated by only two points, a little more behind from them in third place is young Flavia Tartaglini, who manages to keep a safe distance from the Austalian Allison Shreeve. Today thanks to the results in the Nations Cup, greece returns to lead the classifications with 14 points, followed by Italy with 60 and France with 65 points. Tomorrow the races will begin at 1.00pm and there will also be the “Windsurfer Legend Race” that will begin at 4.00pm. Numerous champions from the past will show off their old and nearly rare tables. With Matt Schweitzer and Mike Waltze there will also be Philippe Boghossian and the Italians Manuela Maxia and Beppe Cerquetti, the windsurfing stars from the 70’s and 80’s. Press Office.
