AN AREA DEDICATED TO CULTURE AT THE WORLD FESTIVAL ON THE BEACH WITH   LO CASCIO AND MERCADANTE. EXCLUSIVE TEXTS ABOUT THE HISTORY FROM THE CITIES FISHING VILLAGE. THE PHOTO CONTEST TO TAKE PLACE. FIVE EURO’S TO HELP TRANSPLANT RESEARCH.

PALERMO – 20^th of MAY- an area dedicated to culture at the World Festival on the Beach that this year in the cultural room in the tourist village, gives way to a few interesting publications on Mondello, from Pippo lo Cascio and Francesca Mercadante.  A jump back in the past between interests, mysteries, history and archaeology, to discover the hidden face of the cities most famous fishing village.  A winning excursion of the cities traces that seems to have lost its identity.  From the traces of Homo Sapiens in the prehistoric caves at Mount Pellegrino and the graffiti at Adduara, to the archaeological findings from the 17^th century in the Dammuso di Gallo area, and documents recovered from the antique Tonnara in Mondello.  Charm and mysteries for the cities gardens that sit along the coast, the most refined liberty styled villas are architectural jewels which even today speak for themselves.   The presence of these volumes at the World Festival on the Beach have a really important meaning in allowing the underlining the historic, archaelogical and natural realities in which Mondello’s territory is rich. 

Sport, Music and entertainment, is the successful winning mix at the World Festival on the Beach, organized for the 19^th year by the Albaria Windsurfing Club with the collaboration of Palermo’s Regional Council and the Sicilian Regional Tourism Department.  The real protagonists of the Festival are the people who come to enjoy themselves.  The many faces of the village people captured in a click from the photographic lovers. There is once again the photo contest at the World Festival on the Beach, dedicated to all the sports, entertainments and cultural events.  Inside the stand set up for this contest there are computers, scanners and digital camera readers to allow the participation also by internet.  The material collected will be needed to set up an exhibition which will be even more complete with the images from the professional photographers Marcello Paternostro and Salvo Veneziano.  This event was organized the Albaria Windsurfing Club and the famous specialized magazine “Il Fotografo”.

One hundred sweets for solidarity, costing 5 Euros, to help l’ART, the Transplant Reaseach Association, that during the event will sell special packets of licorice tasting sweets to help raise money for their fund.
