THE LAST EVENING OF THE NEW JAZZ FESTIVALWITH JOYCE YUILLE
CLAUDIO COCCOLUTO OPENS THE SUMMER FESTIVAL IN SICILY

The music events of the 19^th Edition of the World Festival on the Beach go live.  Tomorrow, Friday the 21^st of May will be a really great day with music to please all tastes, from jazz to gospel, pop and dance music.  Tomorrow with the closing of the New Jazz Festival, the Summer Festival in Sicily will begin, organized by the Sicilian Regional Tourism Department, the festival begins in Mondello and will go ahead throughout the summer.

Tomorrow at the New Jazz festival, from 9.00pm on the stage in Valdesi Square, the American singer Joyce E. Yullie will perform with her quartet.  The artist in the course of her career has been extremely influenced by various kinds of music, such as R & B, gospel, classical, jazz and latin music.  These influences have helped her create her own personal style which up until now have been expressed by very few female vocalists.  Tomorrows concert will show the singers capabilities in the songs that she has chosen, soul and jazz.  With her on stage there will be Diego Spitaleri (piano), Sebastiano Alioto (drums) and Riccardo Lo Bue (base).  The enterance is free.

Straight after the performance in Valdesi Square, the attention will cross to the beach where the official opening of the Summer Festival in Sicily will take place.  The guest of honour of the evening will be dj Claudio Coccoluto, that has come back after an enormous success from last years festival where there was thousands and thousands of people on the beach. He’s considered to be one of the best dj’s in Europe, he’ll keep the public going all night with the best house music.  The evening will be transmitted live from 10.30pm on Radio Deejay, another way of mentioning Mondello and making it known out of its territory.  Coccoluto will be a guest at the Fix disco in Galatea Road for the fourth official World Festival on the Beach Party, organized by the All Night Long Club.  There won’t just be Coccoluto on Friday night, before the Dj the singer Maria Corso will perform on stage, a new emerging voice in the music world that had a good experience at Pippo Baudo’s t.v. show Novecento on Rai 3, there will also be No-Stress who will present thier first discographic work La Musica, produced by Mauriziotto and Dario Caminita, Gaspy dj will present to the audience a dance version of the “La fiera dell’Est” by Angelo Branduardi.  Sun will close the evening, a group composed by Dario Sulis ( voice and percussions), Alessandro Palacino (keyboard) and Diego Spitaleri (piano and keyboard).  The music of the three is moulded into new age with mediterranean features that give way to charming ethnic and jazz music.  It’s all about a conclusion that aims to try and find its balance using current music to build ones own music dimensions.  An important aspect in the research of Sun involves the integration of the vocals,in a traditional and advanced way, in a musical contest by instrumental installation. The artistic director of the entertainment is Mauriziotti.
