BEACH VOLLEY: PRIZE GIVING TO THE WINNERS OF THE STUDENTS
TOURNAMENT IN MONDELLO
Whilst waiting for the world beach volley
championships, The Proseries International Beach Tour, to be held from the
19th to the 22nd of May at The World Festival on the Beach, the last
matches of the students tournament went underway this morning on the beach
at Mondello, a tournament held between high schools in and around Palermo.
In the boys prep high school final the teams Casteldaccia A and Isola A
were against each other with victory from the first team made up by Mattia
Bruno and Antonio Novello, while the girls team was won by Martina
Montaina and Adrianna Merluzzo from G.A. Borgese school, who were playing
against the Alberigo Gentile team.
In the boys final the I.T.T Marco Polo A. school came in first with the
team Speziale-Daddelfio, followed by the I.T.I Alessandro Volta Team in
second palce. The girls La Barbera – Nuccio from Cannizzaro A. came in
first,the I.T.I.A team Volta took second place.
The matches were carried out this morning finishing at 1.00pm with a prize
giving ceremony with the presence from the Albaria’s president, Vinci
Pottino who gave out the prizes, there was also Pietro Scaduto, a school
teacher, Pino Mangano, president of the Libertas provincial committee,
Doctor Ettore Castellini and Ario De Giovanni, technical director of the
tournament.
It was the first time that in the students tournament teams from around
palermo participated such as Casteldaccia A and Isola A, and who went on
to win in the finals.
Pino Mangano wanted to thank the Albaria and its president Vinci Pottino
“for making possible a tournament that was so well organized and that had
a great success with many students particiapting, nearly three times as
many as last year”.
Pietro Scaduto is already thinking about the next edition in which he
hopes will see even more participants and hopes to involve more teams,
from the Trapani area.
