XX Edition World Festival On The Beach

THE CENTO CUP MATCH RACE IN ITS FINAL STAGE
In the race the two Italians Cian and Simoncelli, the Frenchman Richard
and Russian Neugodnikov
6th place for the “+39” team. The last race to be held tomorrow
Palermo- two Italian specialists, Paolo Cian from Naples and Matteo
Simoncelli from Romagna, the Frenchman Mattieu Richard who is 4th on the
worlds ranking list and the surprised Russian Eugeny Neugodnikov number 16
in the worlds ranking list are all finalists in the “Albaria’s Cento Cup”
a grade 1 match race which was inserted into the XX edition of the World
Festival on the Beach 2005, and is being held in Mondello’s spectacular
Gulf. This event was promoted by the Albaria Windsurfing Club and Gargnano
Sailing Club. There is a rule that imposes the organization of a race in
sea water.
After 66 races in all, the mini matches find in 5th place the young
Australian guy Steve Jarvin, already an under 20s champion. Iain Percy,
“+39” Helmsman, is in the third Grade 1 of his sailing career, his fleet
took a gold medal in Sydney 2000. After begining in Grade 1 in Marsiglia
he came in at 6th place at Elba. A good 8th place for the team commanded
by coach Roberto Ferrarese. The sweedish man Jonnie Bertsson took 7th
place, he’ll be in the America’s Cup with the “Victory Challenge” group,
9th place for the Russian Andrey Aarbuzov ( he had 2 men from the +39
aboard, the tuscan Romeo and the croatian Igor), 11th place for the danish
man Wibroe and 12th place from Cris Rast from Switzerland, a great valued
skipper who represented his country in the Athens Olympics. In the semi –
final stage of the Albaria Cento Cup the Frenchman Richard chose Matteo
Simoncelli and Cian who holds the Cento Cup, and will be against
Neugodikov. Yesterday the Mayor of Gargnano, Gian Franco Scarpetta, and
the president of the Gargnano Sailing Club, Lorenzo Rizzardi were in
Palermo to seal this double sporting event between Garda and Siciliy.
