PAOLO CIAN WINS THE ALBARIA CENTO CUP
The second time that the skipper from Naples wins the Cento Cup
Paolo Cian, skipper from Naples takes the “Cento Cup”, after his deserved
achievement last year in the “Parco del Vento” (windy park) from Garda to
limone. The ex “Macalzone” helmsman won today in Mondellos beautiful gulf
3-1 against The frenchman Mattieu Richard, number 4 on the worlds Ranking
list. Cian arrived in the finals after taking a risk with Eugeny
Neugdinokv, from Russia, an outsider to this kind of race but however
managed to win 2 – 1 against the other Italian Matteo Simoncelli.
The final race had excellent weather conditions with a wind of 20 knots
blowing, the beach was full of people and the sun was shinning it seemed
like a summers day in August, with the outline of the fleet from the
Mistral World championships and other events at the World Fetsival. In the
final results after Cian comes Richard, young but amongst the best, in
third place the Russian Champion Neugdodnikov, 4th Simoncelli, 5th the
young Australian boy (he hasn’t even reached 18 years old of age) Steve
Jarvin, 6th the +39 team with Iain Percy, 7th Bertsson from Sweeden, 8th
Roby Ferrarese the +39 coach, 9th the Australian Dunstan and 10th Arbuzov
from Russia, all with good points to add on to the worlds ranking list.
