THE MISTRAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE CENTO CUP REGATTA HAVE BEEN PRESENTED IN MONDELLO

It was the Albaria Windsurfing Club that hosted the press conference in the presentation of the Mistral World Championships to be held in Mondello from the 13th to the 22nd of May.The World Championships that return to Sicily after thirteen years.Amongst the presence of many political authorities was Vincenzo Pottino, president of the Albaria and federal councilman of the Federvela, he illustrated the program of this event that will bring in Mondello more than one hundred of the best athletes and who will represent more thirty nations and of all five continents."The Mistral class World Championships returns to Mondello after thirteen years - Pottino explained – In 1992 it marked the beginning of the olympic adventure of Mistral while today it celebrates in some way the goodbye to the olympic stage for this class that remains however very important for the windsurf movement. Today Mondello wants to be again as in the past years a sort of special container able to fuse entirely many different elements as sport, culture and music”.The Cento Cup Regatta, a grade 1 macht race was also presented today in Mondello. Organized by The Albaria Windsurfing Club and Circolo Vela Gargnano, this regatta will show from the 17th to the 21st of May the best interpreters from the world match race circuit and the America’s Cup.Paolo Vigani who represents the Gargnano Sailing Club and the +39 Team stated - "It’s the first time that this regatta will be organized far from the Garda lake where it was born sixteen years ago, when we came to Mondello for the first time, we knew straight away that this was a great place able to host our competition.
The Cento Cup could be cancelled if the chosen boats did not have to turn out suitable.
