XX Edition World Festival On The Beach

THE FIRST STAGE OF THE 2005 PROSERIES TOUR ON MONDELLO BEACH

Two players for each team, a net and a sand handkerchief as a field. Since Seul ' 88 Beach-volley has become an olympic sport and this year, celebrating the 20th birthday of the world Festival on the Beach, this captivating art is going to have its personal birthday on Mondello's Beach: ten years attendance, show and great beach-volley.
From 19 to 22 May Palermo's Beach is once again the frame for the best national and international interpreters of this sport, born on California beaches and now diffused as one of the most beautiful art all over the world.
Since 1995 Beach-volley has actually become a fixed guest of sport and music exhibitions in Mondello, bringing to the beach even worldwide level champions as the Norwegian Maseeide, the Argentinian Baracetti or the italian Pimponi and Pallotta, among men and European champions Lucilla Perrotta and Daniela Gattelli, among women.
Ideal background for spectacular acts of continental and worldwide champions, Mondello has also been an important window for future protagonists of this sport and like past edition, this year too in May is coming again the first stage of the worldwide circuit of the "Proseries Beach-Volley International tour" in Monte Pellegrino's shade, the new male international beach-volley tournament that boasts the presence of worldwide level champions.
Thanks to a group of players and european promoters initiative, Proseries was born as a parallel organization to the international federation to offer high level players the chance to manage themselves on their own, not only submitting to the strict limitations of the international federation.
First foreseen leg among the most beautiful Mediterranean beaches, the Mondello's one is organized by Albaria in co-operation with Polisportiva futura and with the technical direction of Ario De giovanni.
High level sport, therefore, but as well the show always offered by the colours of the world festival on the Beach in the last seasons, which, in occasion of this double birthday is going to make this stage of the Proseries tour a unique rendezvous.
The other stages of the Proseries Tour will be organized in Fregene (10-12 June), Marina di Ravenna (18-19 June), Pescara (1-3 July), Porto Rose in Slovenia (15-17 July), Scoglitti (29-31 July), Riccione (6-7 August), Trieste (14-15 August), Costa Azzurra (26-28 August), Crik Venika in Croazia (2-4 September) and then in September the Golden Gala in Abu Dabi.
